About Vizlib

Vizlib offers intuitive extensions for Qlik Sense (a leading business intelligence platform) to empower data-driven organisations to extend their analytics capabilities.

The brief

Meeting growth goals for customer engagement in 2023

The marketing team developed a brand new strategy for LinkedIn to meet ambitious growth goals for Vizlib’s follower count and engagement rate and the visual content we posted was a key driver of our success. High-level goals included:

  • To develop how-to/explainer carousels, highlighting the best product features

  • To improve decorative blog headers, increasing clicks to the content on the website

  • To stylise customer testimonials, uplifting social proof

  • To increase focus on dynamic video content

Process & research

The existing Vizlib style

Vizlib already had a bright and distinctive style, as demonstrated by its colourful product suite iconography and website. This project was about elevating it to the next level, finding ways to catch the eye, ‘stop the scroll’, and encourage more engagement.

Simple

Brightly-coloured, flat shapes don’t only mirror the existing product iconography; they emphasise the intuitive, modular user interface of a Vizlib data dashboard.

Dynamic

Dynamic angles create flow, directing the eye towards important titles, logos and CTAs. I wanted to include more movement in Vizlib’s visuals.

Human

The majority of Vizlib’s content all centres around how and why humans use its products. Illustrations should also reflect Vizlib’s friendly tone of voice, which is particularly prominent across its social media channels.

Solution & impact

A measurable impact on social engagement YoY

Vizlib’s LinkedIn engagement rate rose >25% YoY

As a result of both the enhanced visuals and the newly implemented social strategy, Vizlib saw an >25% year-on-year uplift in engagement rate across the brand’s LinkedIn content (to December 2023).

Directing traffic to the blog

Traffic to the blog was also strong, thanks to a renewed focus on sharing blog content on the Vizlib social channels.

I created 15 unique blog headers per month during my time at Vizlib, which were used to direct social followers to the website post publication.

The Vizlib website redesign boosted our website stats even further, seeing MQLs increase from 4.58% (Q3 2023) to 5.30% (Q4 2023).

Putting faces to names

Adding a ‘human touch’ was particularly important for our customer testimonials and case studies – word of mouth was a key driver of new leads, and converted followers to paying customers.

A video intro that reflects the brand

As part of our renewed focus on social media strategy came a much bigger emphasis on video content. This would enable the brand to actively demonstrate our product offering, and its simplicity of use.

  • Our existing intro was lethargic and didn’t really capture the essence of Vizlib as a brand, or its tone of voice

  • I created an energetic, colourful new intro that put the brand, product suite and tagline at the forefront. Not only did this provide more context about what we did, but it helped to build excitement for the content that followed
